The Flying Aviation Expo presented by Scheyden is an industry collaboration between aviators who are passionate about providing an opportunity to build community among pilots. We embrace the aviator lifestyle; it’s not a hobby, but a way of life and we seek to create an experience that allows attendees to immerse themselves in all things aviation. The Expo brings together aircraft manufacturers, pilot products and services and pilots for 3 days of airplane browsing, product shopping and pilot education.

Jeff Herold, Principal, Pilot, President, Scheyden Eyewear
Jeff Herold, founder of West Coast Trends, Inc., has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. He first found success within the golf and travel industry with his company, Club Glove started in 1990. His initial interest in aviation began as a desire to find a more efficient way of travel for his growing business.
Shortly after enrolling in flight classes in 1998, Jeff found the need to enhance the experience in the cockpit and began Scheyden Precision Eyewear, providing handcrafted eyewear specifically catering to the needs of pilots and aviation enthusiasts. Almost 20 years later, he is still an avid aviation advocate and continues to find ways to push the overall awareness and success of the industry.
Julia Jones, Exhibit and Sponsorship Sales
Julia grew up in an aviation family and continued her passion for General Aviation into her professional career.
A private pilot for 16 years, her career ranges from grommeting airport windsocks, Customer Service Manager for a top FBO, to doing communications for AOPA and fundraising for the AOPA Foundation.
Martin Chandler, Aircraft and Airport Operations
Marty Chandler has been a long career in aviation. He has amassed over 10,000 hours in the air in both fixed wing aircraft and lighter than air. While working for AOPA he assisted in the coordination of the EXPO and the “Parade of Planes” in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has also held Chief Pilot positions for Goodyear, MetLife and the US Navy. In these roles he has worked on the biggest airshows/expositions.
He is a long time member of AOPA and a Board Member of AMAB where he graduated with a degree in Aviation Management.
Andrea Berry, Show Director
Andrea has worked in the aviation industry for 14 years. She was fully immersed in all things General Aviation through her 10 years at AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), leading a variety of projects including launching an initiative to grow the pilot population (Let’s Go Flying), marketing products and services for pilots, and eventually overseeing the events department including the annual convention.
Having launched her own company in 2012, Andrea has built a business working with aviation companies nationwide on their marketing and event projects. Andrea has lead the programming and show logistics for the Flying Aviation Expo since its inception in 2014.
Andrea has taken one flight lesson; and though decided perhaps piloting an aircraft wasn’t for her, she remains passionate about the industry, protecting pilots’ freedoms, and always enjoys being a passenger.
Andrea has coordinated all aspects of various aviation conferences and conventions and she enjoys building aviation community experiences.

Renee Mowery, Speakers and Registration
Renee has been working in the aviation industry marketing and supporting events since 2015. She is passionate about creating and implementing cutting edge social media to very effectively propel aviation events to a new generation.
Renee started her career working in pagination and design at an award-winning newspaper where she won a Virginia Press Association award for redesigning The WEEKender entertainment section. Renee has worked for large churches in the DC area where she marketed a busy calendar of events and programs, and assisted five pastors, 15+ directors and support staff in small and large event planning.
She launched a small group ministry, initiated a church-wide campaign to organize the groups, and subsequently oversaw 30+ different groups and ministries. She created and implemented standards for leadership and trained 25+ leaders on a quarterly basis.
Renee has extensive experience working with groups to increase collaboration and community and enjoys connecting groups together to enhance networking opportunities. We are excited to have Renee bring her skills to the aviation industry!
